Rotary Club of Obantoko: Present Membership Development Seminar

The Rotary Club of Obantoko had her Membership Development Seminar at Fajol Hotel, Obantoko, Abeokuta on 29th August, 2021. 

The seminar paper was presented by the Past Assistant Governor, Ebun Atinuke, from Rotary Club of Oke-Ona Egba on the topic “Membership Recruitment, INDUCTION & RETENTION IN ROTARY”.

He explained that the growth of Rotary Membership has contributed to the Rotary’s continued success which depends on new thinking and strategies of members in our clubs and district. This has helped in fulfilling the mission of Rotary International.

He emphasized the Rotary International President Shekar Mehta’s membership strategy of “EACH ONE BRING ONE” which is to enable members bring in quality members that will join in growing rotary.
Why Join Rotary?
The speaker listed several reasons why people join rotary as an opportunity to serve, Professional Networking, Personal Growth and Development, Good Citizenship, World Understanding, Entertainment, Ethical Environment, Cultural Diversity and Friendship.

He encouraged members to be more involved in fellowships, impactful community projects, We-Care Program and others. He also charged the club to be more proactive in ensuring membership development and retention by assigning responsibilities, set objectives, develop strategies, offer incentives, monitor progress and ensure appropriate feedback.

After his presentation, several members were inducted into the Rotary Family and were welcomed by members at the event.
The event witnessed large turnout of members of the rotary clubs of Obantoko, Elega and Ake-Royal (District 9110) and members from Rotary Club of Ilorin Prestige (District 9125). 
There were also in attendance family and friends of Rotary, Rotaractors and Babyractors.
