In April, when the party pegged its presidential nomination form at N100m, there was serious backlash from various quarters, but the APC remained undeterred, insisting that only those who could afford the form should purchase it.

By the time the window for the acquisition of the form would close, the party said 28 members had made the purchase -- but three did not submit. The three are Chris Ngige, Godwin Emefiele, and Timipre Sylva.

He moved around the Eagle Square premises to greet delegates before settling down.

Okorocha, Ayade, others reject APC Govs’ Five-Man List

The names of five presidential aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress submitted to President Muhammadu Buhari as most preferred by northern governors have been rejected by seven presidential aspirants.

This was contained in a joint statement on Tuesday by the aggrieved aspirants.

The aspirants are Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade; former Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba; former Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu; former Governor Rochas Okorocha and businessman Tein Jack-Rich.

According to them, they were not consulted before the northern governors arrived at the decision.

The names submitted to Buhari are former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu; a former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi; Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi and Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State who is a presidential aspirant has just arrived.

Also, governors of Borno and Zamfara states, Babagana Zulum and Bello Matawalle have arrived.

We want a presidential candidate that can beat Atiku - Gov Sule

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has said that the action the APC will take in the next few hours will be based on the ability of an aspirant to beat former vice president Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Sule disclosed this while answering questions from journalists at the venue of the party's presidential primary on Tuesday. 

There are rumours that the party has cut the number of its presidential aspirants to two.

Sule said, "We have to produce someone who can match Atiku and beat him. Any decision less than this we, as a party, are in trouble."

Police arrest 3 phone snatchers

Police operatives at the venue of the APC convention have arrested three phone snatchers.

Many of them took advantage of the rowdiness created by security personnel at the entrance of Eagle Square to steal from their victims. 

They were beaten ruthlessly and taken to an unknown destination by the police.
