🙏 Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River scored 37 votes. Cross River has 54 APC delegates. APC Presidential Primaries 

🙏 'Consensus' candidate Ahmad Lawan, the Senate President, scored 152 votes at APC Presidential Primaries

🙏 Governor Yahaya Bello scored 47 votes. His state, Kogi, has 63 delegates. APC Presidential Primaries

🙏 Rochas Okorocha got zero votes at APC Presidential Primaries. Mr Okorocha is a senator from Imo State. Imo State had a total of 81 delegates.

🙏 Vice President Yemi Osinbajo scored 235 votes at APC Presidential Primaries.

🙏 Nine persons withdrew from the race. The election committee announced that all the nine aspirants signed the withdrawal form.

🙏 It is 6:20am Nigerian time. We have now been on this journey for the past 18 hours. Barring any extraordinary development, the party should announce its presidential candidate in the next few hours. 

🙏 FOR THE RECORD: The race for the APC presidential ticket has been filled with intrigues, suspense and drama every step of the way. As voting continues at Eagle Square, we will bring you some of the major highlights of the past few months.

In April, when the party pegged its presidential nomination form at N100m, there was serious backlash from various quarters, but the APC remained undeterred, insisting that only those who could afford the form should purchase it.

By the time the window for the acquisition of the form would close, the party said 28 members had made the purchase -- but three did not submit. The three are Chris Ngige, Godwin Emefiele, and Timipre Sylva.

Godswill Akpabio has stepped down from the presidential race and has asked his supporters to vote for Bola Tinubu.

🙏 Dimeji Bankole, presidential hopeful and former speaker of the house of representatives, says: "For the past 20 years, we have left LGAs ungoverned. Over 20 per cent of our revenue is spent on LGAs. We must negotiate with our governors on it to make it better."

Adebayo Shittu, former minister of communication, says the APC must pick a strong candidate to face the PDP flagbearer, adding that he's in support of the pruning of the number of APC contenders.

Ameachi, who arrived at the venue at 6.40pm, was accompanied by a retinue of aides and supporters. 

He moved around the Eagle Square premises to greet delegates before settling down.

Okorocha, Ayade, others reject APC Govs’ Five-Man List

The names of five presidential aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress submitted to President Muhammadu Buhari as most preferred by northern governors have been rejected by seven presidential aspirants.

This was contained in a joint statement on Tuesday by the aggrieved aspirants.

The aspirants are Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade; former Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba; former Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu; former Governor Rochas Okorocha and businessman Tein Jack-Rich.

According to them, they were not consulted before the northern governors arrived at the decision.

The names submitted to Buhari are former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu; a former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi; Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi and Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State who is a presidential aspirant has just arrived.

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has said that the action the APC will take in the next few hours will be based on the ability of an aspirant to beat former vice president Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Sule disclosed this while answering questions from journalists at the venue of the party's presidential primary on Tuesday. 

There are rumours that the party has cut the number of its presidential aspirants to two.

Sule said, "We have to produce someone who can match Atiku and beat him. Any decision less than this we, as a party, are in trouble."

Police arrest 3 phone snatchers

Police operatives at the venue of the APC convention have arrested three phone snatchers.

Many of them took advantage of the rowdiness created by security personnel at the entrance of Eagle Square to steal from their victims. 

They were beaten ruthlessly and taken to an unknown destination by the police.
