APC Primary: Tinubu commiserates with Rivers APC over death of delegates

Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has commiserated with Rivers State chapter of the party on the passing of delegates who died while returning from the APC’s Special Convention and Primary, which held in Abuja on Tuesday.

In a statement signed by Director, Media and Communication of Tinubu Campaign Organization, Bayo Onanuga in Abuja, Thursday, Tinubu  prayed for repose of the souls of the deceased.

The Tinubu Campaign Office stated that it received with shock the death of Hon. Onimiteim Vincent Samuel, the secretary of the party in Akukutoru Local Government Area of Rivers State and others yet to be identified in a vehicular accident on their way from Abuja.

The statement reads partly, “On behalf of the presidential candidate of our great party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we commiserate with the family and our party leaders in the state.

“The death of grassroots leaders of our party in such tragic circumstances is saddening. We pray for the repose of their souls and urge party members to dedicate

Labour leaders on Saturday repeated their advice to President Muhammadu Buhari not to be misled by some governors on the new minimum wage demand by Nigerian workers. Labour Speaking during a working visit to Ado Ekiti, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Mr Ayuba Wabba, said there was no going back on the amount submitted to the Federal Government by labour. The number of Americans sickened each year by bites from infected mosquitoes, ticks or fleas tripled from 2004 through 2016, with infection rates spiking sharply in 2016 as a result of a Zika outbreak, U.S. health officials said Tuesday. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that some 96,075 diseases caused by bites by mosquitoes, ticks and fleas were reported in 2016, up from 27,388 in 2004, in an analysis of data from the CDC's National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System. Infections in 2016 went up 73 percent from 2015, reflecting the emergence of Zika, which is transmitted by mosquitoes and can cause severe birth defects. Zika was the most common disease borne by ticks, mosquitoes and fleas reported in 2016, with 41,680 cases reported, followed by Lyme disease, with 36,429 cases, almost double the number in 2004.
