We are parting ways – Shakira, Pique confirm divorce

 Gerard Pique, the Barcelona defender, and Colombian pop star Shakira have announced their decision to split.

Shakira and Pique have been together for 11 years and they have two children together.

Their relationship came under intense scrutiny following recent reports of infidelity by Pique.

The infidelity rumours were reported by El Periodico, a Spanish news outlet.

Pique, 35, was said to have been romantically involved with a student who also doubles as a hostess.

The couple’s split was announced through a joint statement released by Shakira’s public relations firm, stating they are separating for the well-being of their children.

“We regret to confirm that we are separating,” the statement reads.

“For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect our privacy.

“Thank you for your understanding.”

Shakira met the Barcelona defender and Manchester United academy graduate during promotional tours for the 2010 World Cup.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has through the Ministry of Interior declared Monday 13th of June, 2022, as a public holiday to mark the 2022 Democracy day. Chief Ebola Doctor Contracts Ebola

A doctor who has played a key role in fighting the Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone is infected with the disease, according to that country's Ministry of Health. Dr: Shelk Humarr Khan is being treated by the French aid group Medecins Sans Frontieres - also known as Doctors Without Borders - in Kailahum, Sirra Leone, Tim Shenk, an agency spokesman, told CNN. Until falling ill, Khan had been overseeing Ebola treatment and isolation units at Kenema Government Hospital, about 185 miles east of the capital Freetown. Kenya coins replace leaders with animals

Previous coins bore the images of Kenya's three ex-rulers: Jomo Kenyatta, Daniel arap Moi and Mwai Kibaki. Many Kenyans saw this as an attempt by their leaders to promote themselves, and to personalise the state. The new ones have images of the country's famous wildlife, including lions, elephants, giraffes and rhinos. President Uhuru Kenyatta - the son of Kenya's first leader Jomo Kenyatta - said the new coins were a "big change" and showed "our nation has come a long way".
