Aide distances Amosun from ex-gov’s presidential posters in Abeokuta

Ahead of 2023 general elections, former governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun’s presidential campaign posters on Wednesday surfaced in Abeokuta, the state capital.

Amosun, who represents the Ogun Central at the Senate, is a chieftain of  the All Progressives Congress.

Amosun’s presidential campaign banner was also conspicuously hanged on the bridge at the popular NNPC bridge along Presidential Boulevard Way, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.
There are three images of Amosun on the banner showing him in Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa attires.
A logo signed by one “Oba Agoro,” who appears to be the brain behind the campaign, was on the banner .

“Your voice, your choice, SIA (Senator Ibikunle Amosun) for President,” an inscription on the poster reads.

A few vehicles with Amosun’s campaign posters were  sighted in the Abeokuta  metropolis on Wednesday .

However, one of the aides of Amosun, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said his boss had nothing to do with the posters.

He said, “Such posters wouldn’t have come from him but I can’t say exactly where it came from. I don’t think he knows anything about it. You have heard about different politicians’ posters surfacing in Abuja. So, I’m not sure he knows anything about it.”
