MLSCN Registrar/CEO reaffirmed unwavering support for MHWUN, MLSCN Branch.

The Registrar/CEO, Prof. Tosan Erhabor, has reaffirmed his unwavering support for the Medical and Health Workers' Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) Branch.  

He made the remarks in a goodwill message during the  Union elections, which held today, in Abuja. 

The election witnessed active participation from members, reflecting the Union's commitment to democratic principles.

Meanwhile, in recognition of his leadership and attention to staff welfare, the Registrar was presented with a certificate of appreciation by FAC Chairman, Comrade Adetoboye Ayodeji Raphael. 
The newly elected executives also assured that they would prioritize the welfare of MHWUN members at MLSCN and uphold excellence in medical laboratory services nationwide.

Hamburger E. coli Outbreak sickens 13 in Montana

The Flathead City-County Health Department (FCCHD), the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS), and other local health departments, are working together to investigate an E.coli O157:H7 outbreak originating in Flathead County. To date, the investigation has identified at least 13 individuals associated with the outbreak. Many of the cases experienced moderate to severe symptoms, and one death has occurred. Preliminary investigative findings indicate that ground beef containing the E.coli bacteria may be the exposure of concern. Madam Efunroye Tinubu

CBN knocks banks for shunning eNaira

The Central Bank of Nigeria on Wednesday knocked commercial banks across the country for not promoting the e-Naira launched with fanfare by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari(retd.), in October, 2021. The apex bank also explained the operational benefits of its newly introduced eNaira to the public. Officials of the CBN took turns in Kaduna on Wednesday to lecture youth corps members, hundreds of students from tertiary institutions across the state and other members of the public on the eNaira initiative. Head, Development Finance Department of the CBN, Aminu Muhammad, an assistant director, said financial institutions under the purview of the CBN were supposed to play these critical roles in growing our economy.
