MLSCN Registrar/CEO has called on staff to adopt essential fire safety skills

Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) Registrar/CEO, Prof. Tosan Erhabor, has called on staff to adopt essential fire safety skills, emphasizing their role in the effective management of emergencies. 

He said this during a fire drill conducted in conjunction with the Federal Fire Service, today at MLSCN Headquarters, in Abuja.

Leading the exercise, DSF Sylvester Monday of the Federal Fire Service, underscored the importance of fire prevention and preparedness. 

According to him, "Fire safety, is a collective responsibility. Therefore, we must remain vigilant and proactive in preventing fires."

The team demonstrated proper fire extinguisher use, evacuation procedures, and the critical role of smoke detectors and alarms in ensuring safety.

Oyo gets new deputy gov after Olaniyan’s removal

The Oyo State House of Assembly on Monday approved the appointment of Adebayo Lawal as the new Deputy Governor following the removal of Rauf Olaniyan. Rauf Olaniyan was impeached by the state house of assembly following a gross misconduct charge level against him after the news of his decamping from the ruling PDP to the opposition APC in the state. The approval followed the nomination of Lawal to the lawmakers for consideration by Governor Seyi Makinde as a replacement for Olaniyan. Before his appointment, Lawal was the Chairman of the State Housing Corporation. He had also served as the state Attorney-General. He hails from Kisi in the Irepo Local Government area. Lawal’s nomination is contained in a letter by the governor to the lawmakers, which was presented at the plenary.
