UPDATED: How former Oyo Governor, Alao Akala died in his Ogbomoso home

Former Oyo Governor,  Christopher Alao Akala died on Wednesday morning, in his Ogbomosho home, circumstances behind his death has been unraveled according to a top source.

A source privy to Intel Region, has revealed that the former governor was hailed and hearty as at yesterday evening, enjoyed the Nigeria vs Egypt game with his Family in Ogbomoso 

The source said 

“He was expected to attend the burial of his close friend who died recently,  but died in his sleep this morning” “He was expected  to return to Ibadan today, but died unexpectedly”

His wife left his Ibadan home today with the intent of attending an event at Ogbomosho, probably Akala’s friend burial, but must have been informed about her husband’s death on her way 

He added.

Ogbomoso, the former governor’s home town has been besieged by mourners; young, and old. Crying in multitude, about the unfortunate loss of Akala. The former Governor who is seen as a philanthropist and an elder stateman has raised a lot of reactions from Governors, elder statemen, politicians and well wishers
