How disagreement between Ake and Owu people led to the killing and burning of late Olu of Agodo, his elder brother, and three aides

A top source privy to the information, leading to the gruesome murder of Olu of Agodo  said that a long term feud between the Owu people and Ake people led to the fatal killing of the late king and his elder bbrothe

The long term feud, the source said has killed so many people, and renders so many homeless. The king who avoided Agodo village, though he is king for the fear of his life, he  doesn’t step there, or even live there because his elder brother was also killed, and his body was also burnt.

The king on his way to settle the long term old scuffle, was ambushed, killed and burnt with three of his aides, and not his children as it was previously reported 

The sister to the King, who escaped the death, said she was not at the scene, as it was reported by several media houses. That, she was at the hospital. She added, that she was just discharged.  When intel region contacted her, she was in pains, and sounded disturbed. We could not asked further question on the long term feud between Owu people and the Ake people. 

A top source also  confirmed to Intel Region that the  village is deserted and the whole  villagers have suddenly disappeared after the gruesome killing of the King went viral

The governor of Ogun state, Dapo Abiodun has also condemned the killings and vow to prosecute the killers.

Reacting to the incident in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, Abiodun said he has directed security agencies to immediately fish out the killers.

The governor warned those threatening the peace of the state, stressing that his administration would stop at nothing to deal decisively with the perpetrators by prosecuting them. 

The governor, who described the incident as unfortunate noted that politics, land and chieftaincy matters should not descend into self-help and killings.

He said: “Security of life and property tops our responsibilities as a government and we will not allow people to take laws into their hands,” the governor was quoted as saying.

He also warned that hirelings, parents and guardians should call their wards to order and no plea for clemency will be tolerated for acts of brigandage, murder and illegal conducts.

“To those threatening the peace of our state, we will stop at nothing to fish them out, prosecute them and mete out the full wrath of the law on them. We have zero-tolerance for these ignoble conducts. Politics, land and chieftaincy disputes are no excuses for people to take laws into their hands. All hirelings, parents and guardians should call their wards to order.

“OP-MESA, Joint Internal Security Task Force, Amotekun, vigilantes groups, DSS Police and NSCDC are not mere toothless bulldogs. They are armed and deployed to strike agent provocateurs”, he said.

Abiodun commiserated with the family of the late monarch and residents of Agodo town, assuring that killers would not go unpunished for carrying out that heinous act.
