NAPS DEBUNK KANGAROO GATHERING AND CONDEMN THE OPERATION OF NATIONAL DRUG AND LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY (NDLEA)

By Benedict Olalere

Solidarity greetings from the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS), the umbrella body that represent over 20.1million Monotechnics and  Polytechnic Students in Nigeria and Diaspora.

As a legitimate President-Elect under democratic election of 200  accredited Senators (Students' Union Government President) across Nigeria, I rise to address the Polytechnic Students populace across Nigeria to disregard and disclaim the malicious gathering called Congress, which was held at NUJ Hall, Abuja on the 28th January, 2022 by some unscrupulous elements to faction the NAPS Unity Convention held at Education Resources Centre, Abuja on 3rd - 5th December, 2021 under the supervision of Department of State Service, Abuja.
The kangaroo gathering which claimed Anidi Samuel as the factional President is illegal and unconstitutional. It was structured to mislead the entire Nigerian Polytechnic Students from the truth, scandal the progress and disunity the association.

For clarity, Anidi Samuel and I contested for Presidency portfolio during NAPS Unity Convention, signed an undertaken with the Department of State Security in view of the election proper. Without doubt, I defeated him with 94 votes against 88 votes. None of your manipulation can render over hundred senators votes and DSS supervision irrelevant, your are near the den.
Henceforth, identifying with:
Anidi Samuel from Delta State Polytechnic
Ridwan Opeyemi from Kaduna State Polytechnic
Okukeni Samuel from Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Uwana is identifying with darkness and evil perpetrators. School management and Students Union Government Presidents should disregard and disassociate themselves from this impersonators to avoid soiling their integrity and reputation built over the years.
For benefit of doubt, conduct independent investigation by contacting the Department of State Service - Students Desk, Abuja on the legitimate President-Elect and executives of National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS).

Moreso, the leadership of NAPS frown at the National Drug and Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kwara division on the misuse of power by stray of bullets in students community which led to the loss of two students to the cold hand of death. How could a trained enforcement officers spray bullets in such an environment? It shows a low level of competency in service delivery.

On this note, we demand for justice  as we call on the Commissioner of Police, Kwara Division to swing into thorough investigation on this innocent lives and bring the culprit to book.

Finally, we mourn with families of the demise and pray that may God grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Yours in struggle,

Comrade Kingsley ASIEGBU
National President-Elect
National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS)
