ATO sets to launch a first handbook on TBA.

The founder of ATO Health Initiative, a Non Governmental Organization that is set aside to update the people about health, wellness and well-being, Hon Azeez Olatunde Osho, is set to lauch Traditional Birth Attendants book. - PATH TO SAFE DELIVERY.
The 10 chaptered book was of bilingual (written in English and Yoruba) edition centered on female health from conception, child birth and post delivery care for Traditional Birth Attendant.

Traditional Birth Attendants are major stakeholders in sustaining maternal health in the world and are very close to the people most especially the less previledge.

The red carpet for the book launch will start by 9am, and the program will start proper by 11am at the school of nursing hall, FMC idi aba Abeokuta on Saturday 7th December, 2019.
Hon Osho said "The book is written as a compendium to traditional birth practitioners and all who chooses child birth as profession in order to fortified them with necessary knowledge needed to take care of pregnant women from the day of conception to that of delivery.

"Another important aim of  written this 10 chapters bilingual (written in English and Yoruba) book is to contribute my quota towards ERADICATION OF MATERNAL MORTALITY RATE IN OUR SOCIETY in order to achieve millennium development goal five (MDG-5)."

He added that "my 10yrs intensive herbal research on maternal health which I put part of it down in this book (volume 1) talks extensively on 
1. Herbal solution to watery sperm, 
2. Routine investigations to be carried out on infertile woman, 
3. How caesarian section can be prevented with regular use of herbs in pregnancy.
4. Causes of infertility and herbal remedies.
And lots more."

In chapter 5 of the book, contains the important Laboratory investigations to be carried out on couples with infertility problems, investigations in pregnancy e.t.c. 

The ten chapters are broken down as follows:
CHAPTER ONE is about Introduction to TBA, Roles, Functions, Solutions to TBA problems and Ethics and Code of Conduct for TBA

CHAPTER TWO is about Natural Child Birth, Maternal and reproductive Health for TBA, Infertility among couples, and Family planning

CHAPTER THREE is about Understanding Anatomy and Physiology of women, Puberty in female, The Ovarian cycle and menstruation, Fertilization in women, Menopausal stage, and Understanding blood group and Genotype

CHAPTER FOUR emphasis on the Preparing for pregnancy, Signs of pregnancy, and Disorder in pregnancy

CHAPTER FIVE is about Ante natal care, Advice on pregnancy care, Minor and major disorder in ante natal care, Investigations in pregnancy, and How to interpret investigations

CHAPTER SIX is about Obstetric care, Signs and Stages of labour, Danger signs during labour, Care of the baby at birth and The delivery of the placenta

CHAPTER SEVEN talked about Post delivery care, Prevention of infections, Ambulation and Exercise, Breast, Nutrition, Anaemia and Emotional Management after delivery

CHAPTER EIGHT is about Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission, Transmission of HIV/AIDS, Voluntary Counselling and Testing for TBAs, HIV prevention from Mother and Anti Retroviral Treatment and Management of HIV positive pregnant women

CHAPTER NINE is about Univesal Precautions for TBAs, Infection and prevention and Waste management

Finally, CHAPTER TEN talked about Medicinal actions of herbs use in childbirth, How to be a successful Herbalist, Herbs and its care, Preservation, Packaging and Storage, Barriers in nomenclature, Forms of herbal medicine use in Childbirth, Preparations of some herbs and phytotherapies in Childbirth, and Herbs and its side effect

The book is coauthored by Azeez Tunde Osho (ATO) and Chief Gbenga Osho.

Hon Azeez Olatunde Osho is the son of chief Gbenga Osho who is also a current chairman of the Traditional Birth Attendants in Ogun state.

Hon Azeez Olatunde Osho is an aspirant into the OGHA under ADC in 2019. He was born in Ijebu ode about 40yrs ago, undergone a training on traditional birth practices under his father. He hold diploma in Medical Laboratory Science, as well as B.sc in microbiology. Married with kids.
