FUNAAB SUG disclaim recent armed Robbery attack.

The students Union Congress of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAABSU), had disclaim the recent attack on the off-campus students of the institution.


The statement was made at the press statement posted on the Union's Twitter page  by the Public Relations Officer, Com Lawal Abdul Wasiu.

The statement reads:

The Students' Union, a conglomerate of articulate, vibrant & quintessential students that are dedicated to the protection, defense & advocacy of students interest hereby uses this medium to disclaim with clear intent the recent claims of incessant ROBBERY ATTACKS at the off campus location around the University environment. 

Numerous media houses such as the SAHARA REPORTERS (@SaharaReporters) and personnels, have been perpetrating false news of robbery incidence around the University environment in recent times. It's essential to categorically disclaim that there was no case of robbery whatsoever in Kofesu area on Thursday, 31st October, 2019. Its also important to note that the Mgt of the University has directed that every concerned students affected by robbery or harassment by security operatives should report 2 d University Security Unit and the Student Affairs Division for registration of reports of such incidence.We implore all FUNAABites to stay calm, remain security concious and avoid spreading of false and unconfirmed information, as doing so will bring the University to a huge and gross disrepute.

CBN knocks banks for shunning eNaira

The Central Bank of Nigeria on Wednesday knocked commercial banks across the country for not promoting the e-Naira launched with fanfare by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari(retd.), in October, 2021. The apex bank also explained the operational benefits of its newly introduced eNaira to the public. Officials of the CBN took turns in Kaduna on Wednesday to lecture youth corps members, hundreds of students from tertiary institutions across the state and other members of the public on the eNaira initiative. Head, Development Finance Department of the CBN, Aminu Muhammad, an assistant director, said financial institutions under the purview of the CBN were supposed to play these critical roles in growing our economy. Some of the athletes who will be representing Nigeria at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow are crying over their condition since their arrival in Scotland over the weekend.
