My husband always demands anal sex, woman tells court

A housewife, Asma’u Sulaiman, on Thursday prayed a Sharia court at Magajin Gari, Kaduna to dissolve her marriage to her husband over frequent demand for anal sex.


Sulaiman also told the court that her husband, Nura Ahmad, had been assaulting and accusing her of infidelity.

“There was a time I went to my parents’ house over a misunderstanding I had with my husband; when I returned, he accused me of aborting my pregnancy which was not true,” the News Agency of Nigeria quoted her as saying.

The complainant said she came to court to get justice as she could no longer endure the pain and was scared of contracting a disease from anal sex.

However, Ahmad denied his wife’s allegation.

The judge, Malam Musa Sa’ad, asked the wife if she had any witness that would testify for her and she answered in the affirmative.

The judge then adjourned the case till April 18, 2018 for the complainant to present her witnesses.

Why we arrest motorists with faded number plates – VIO

The Federal Capital Territory Vehicle Inspection Office (FCT VIO) says its arrest of motorists over faded vehicle number plates is not to extort them but ensure compliance with traffic rules. The FCT VIO Spokesperson, Mr Kalu Emetu, made the clarification following complaints by motorists over the issue. Some of the motorists said they were made to pay heavy fine of up to N20,000 and directed to procure a new number plate for no fault of theirs. The motorists said that the VIO should blame the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) for the substandard number plates which fade easily, instead of heaping the blame entirely on them. Emetu, however, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday in Abuja, that all vehicle number plates must be visible from at least from 50 meters, otherwise it was an offence to use it. A pro-democracy group, the Voters’ Assembly (VOTAS) has condemned Tuesday’s impeachment of Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako. The group, in a statement signed by its Chairman, Comrade Mashood Erubami, Wednesday, said Nyako’s impeachment set a new template for vindictive politics in Nigeria, describing it as an ominous sign that the 2015 election will be racked with possible catastrophes. SSANU protests sack of 23 FUNAAB workers, indicts EFCC

MEMBERS of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) yesterday rallied support for the 23 workers sacked by the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) in Ogun State. The association protested the sack by disrupting movement into the campus while they accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of betrayal by releasing the names of the whistleblowers to the management of FUNAAB. EFCC Arraigns Man For N16m Scam

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 arraigned one Bashir Salihu before Justice M. Talba of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Gudu, Abuja on a 2-count charge bordering on criminal breach of trust and issuance of dud cheque. Salihu allegedly obtained the sum of sixteen million naira (N16m) as loan from one Ramatu A Isiaq for the construction of perimeter fence of Niger Delta Science, Technology and Bio Industrial Park in Sagbama, Bayelsa State. The accused is said to have promised to repay the loan with interest within three months but failed to do so. All efforts to recover the money proved futile.
