Official: CAF Announce Qualification Groups For AFCON 2021
Despite the 2019 edition still ongoing, the groups for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers have now been revealed, following Thursday's draw in Cairo.
The his year's tournament is yet to be concluded with the final only taking place on Friday, but CAF have already determined the qualifiers for the next edition.
There are 12 groups consisting of four teams each. The top two sides from each group will qualify for the showpiece that will be held in Cameroon, who were initially supposed to host the 2019 edition.
Bafana Bafana, who were seeded in pot 2, were drawn alongside Ghana, Sudan and the winner of the preliminary round tie between Mauritius and Sao Tome Principe.
There are four matches in the preliminary round which includes Liberia v Chad, South Sudan v Seychelles, Mauritius v Sao Tome and Djibouti v Gambia.
