Queen found dead after ransom paid

Image
The Akungba-Akoko regent, Omosowon, and some of her aides were kidnapped along Ose- Owo expressway on their way from a public function in Akure. The regent was held for two weeks because her kidnappers refused to reduce the N20m ransom they requested from her family and her community. The intervention of the state government and security operatives, from within and outside the state, later paid off as the kidnappers den was invaded. Omosowon, narrating her  in the hands of her captors, said she was chained, blindfolded for two weeks under a  cocoa tree. She has since returned home but still visits the Trauma Centre in Ondo town for treatment following the injuries inflicted on her head by her abductors. Her two weeks experience left a sour taste in her mouth and memories to last her entire life time. Consequently, she declared  she was tired of the throne and ready to abdicate for a traditional ruler, asking Akungba-Akoko  kingmakers to expedite action on the process to fill the

Ejima bridge: one of the world scary bridge

Image
In Japan is located the  most frightening bridge  in the world: judging by the pictures, it seems that those who have designed wanted to defy the force of gravity. We speak of the  Ejima bridge , which combines the city of Sakaiminato and Matsue  in Japan , the two cities are located on opposite sides of Lake Nakaumi. A bridge  rather than a work road, seems part of an roller coaster in a theme park . The steepness is not only due to an optical effect, but it is real, as you can guess from the photographs that portray this.  In details,  the bridge  have the maximum height of 44 meters. Its particular shape, of course, is not a random result , but is due to the fact that there is provided in the passage of ships. What is certain is that the images are almost scary, especially when the bridge is raised to pass along the boats: in that case, it is good to remember to stop his car with the handbrake, or the risk of a real disaster become very concrete. The reasons why the   Ejima br

Her husband, family and friends who accompanied her started weeping but there was no hope. But something happened. Before the lady could stand in the witness box a man stood up and the court room was silent. Everyone looked at Him. He was noble and gentle. He stood in the witness box and interceded on behalf of the woman. The case was difficult, yet He used all His strength, energy and resources to fight on behalf of the woman. After a long legal battle between the man and the accusers, the lady was set free. The lady fell before the man and asked 'WHO ARE YOU?' The next day the lady deliberately committed another crime and was sent to the same court. As soon as she entered the courtroom, she saw the man who interceded for her the previous day on the judgement seat. He was no lo

The Tortoise and the Snake

Image
Ijapa the tortoise went on a long walk. He walked very far and got very tired. Ijapa was very hungry too. Ijapa came to the village where Ojola, the boa snake, lived. Ijapa thought, “I am so hungry, I will stop here. Ojola will surely give me food to eat.” Ijapa went to Ojola’s house and Ojola welcomed him. They sat in the cool house and talked. Ijapa smelled food cooking in the other part of the house. Ojola said, “Come, let us get ready to eat together.” Ijapa went outside to prepare for the meal. When he came back, the food was placed in the center of the house and Ijapa smelled the aroma. But the tortoise could not reach the food. The snake was coiled all around it. Ijapa got more and more hungry. Ojola the snake said, “Come sit with me and eat.” Ijapa said, “I would be very happy to sit and eat. But Ojola, why are you surrounding the meal?” Ojola replied, “This is the way of the snakes. When we eat, we sit around the food like this.” Ojola ate and ate of the food,

My husband is my boyfriend on facebook

I have been married to my hubby for 8 years and we are blessed with 4 boys which I had vaginally. After my last boy, my marriage went from bad to worse, as in, getting my hubby’s attention over the years has been very difficult. To have sex with him is even on ‘appointment’ basis. The rate at which my marriage was going, I knew that if I didn’t do something about it, it would move from worse to worst. I sought the advice of one of my very close friends and she told me what to do. As funny as this sounds, it was working very well and I don’t want what I am doing to end. I got a new phone and sim card, then opened new accounts on all the social media, putting all my best body parts as the display/profile picture, especially on facebook, whatsapp and bbm. I then sent a friend request to my husband. The silly man did not waste any time in accepting my requests. At first, he played hard to get but I still relented. Because my identity is not revealed to him, I went back to b

The pregnant Deer

Image
In a forest, a pregnant deer was about to give birth. She found a remote grass field near a strong-flowing river. This seemed a safe place. Suddenly labour pains began. At the same moment, dark clouds gather around above and lightening started a forest fire. She looked to her left and saw a hunter with his bow extended, pointing at her. To her right, she spotted a hungry lion approaching her. What can the pregnant deer do? She is in labour! What will happen? Will the deer survive? Will she give birth to a fawn? Will the fawn survive? Or will everything be burnt by the forest fire? Will she perish to the hunters' arrow? Will she die a horrible death at the hands of the hungry lion approaching her? She was constrained by the fire on the one side and the flowing river on the other and boxed in by her natural predators. What did she do? She focused on giving birth to a new life. The sequence of events that followed are: - Lightening strucked and blinded the hunter

Hemoglobin A1c

How is it used? The A1c test is used to monitor the glucose control of diabetics over time. The goal of those with diabetes is to keep their blood glucose levels as close to normal as possible. This helps to minimize the complications caused by chronically elevated glucose levels, such as progressive damage to body organs like the kidneys, eyes, cardiovascular system, and nerves. The A1c test result gives a picture of the average amount of glucose in the blood over the last few months. This can help the diabetic person and his doctor know if the measures that are being taken to control his diabetes are successful or need to be adjusted. A1c is frequently used to help newly diagnosed diabetics determine how elevated their uncontrolled blood glucose levels have been over the last 2-3 months. The test may be ordered several times while control is being achieved, and then several times a year to verify that good control is being maintained. The A1c test may be used to scree

Ghana explosion, death toll rise to 90

ACCRA - An explosion at a petrol station in Ghana's capital killed around 90 people sheltering from a storm early on Thursday, emergency services said, in the worst disaster to strike the West African state in more than a decade. The force of the blast gave few a chance to escape. People were burned beyond recognition where they stood under the station's awning, or trapped in the charred wreckage of cars and minivans parked on its forecourt. The accident was caused by a fire at a nearby lorry terminal. Flames spread to the state-run GOIL petrol station via spilt fuel floating on flood water, fire brigade spokesman Prince Billy Anaglate said. "It was an explosive fire and so the people sheltering at the filling station did not have an opportunity to escape," Anaglate said. It was Ghana's worst disaster since more than 120 people died in May 2001 in a stampede at the national stadium during a football match, a police spokesman said. The incident expo

Causes of Dizziness and Blackout

Syncope or Fainting is defined as “partial or complete loss of consciousness with interruption of awareness of oneself and ones surroundings”. When the loss of consciousness is temporary and the person recovers spontaneously, it is referred to as syncope or, in non- medical terms as fainting. Syncope or fainting, results from a temporary reduction in the blood flow and insufficient oxygen supply to the brain. When this occurs, the individual may experience lightheadedness, a “blackout” episode or loss of consciousness. The reduction in blood supply to the brain can be caused by both heart-related conditions as well as other conditions that do not affect the heart. Syncope may be associated with a sudden fall in blood pressure, a decrease in heart rate or changes in the blood volume or distribution. Causes of Syncope (Blackout) 1.
