Three gospel music organisers have cancelled or postponed scheduled events following the death of Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings.
The organisers, Kaywonder, Pure Gospel Music Generals Akure (PUGMUG) and AY Grace Music Ministry, announced the changes in separate statements on Thursday, saying the decisions were taken in honour of the late singer.
Toluwanisings died on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, triggering tributes from fellow gospel artistes and members of the Christian music community.
Kaywonder, known for the song “Oke Nla”, announced the postponement of the seventh edition of the Invasion Praise Concert, initially scheduled for Sunday, October 18, at 2pm.
In a statement, the organiser said the loss had deeply affected the gospel music community, prompting a decision to defer the programme.
“Following the heartbreaking loss of one of the Gospel minister, Toluwanisings, we have been deeply affected by this painful moment. In honour of his memory and in recognition of the grief currently felt across the Gospel community, we have prayerfully decided to postpone the concert,” the statement read.
The organiser said the decision was taken despite preparations for the event, adding that the community needed time to mourn and reflect.
“This is a difficult moment for us all. Although we eagerly anticipated gathering in God’s presence to worship and praise Him, we believe this is a time to pause, reflect, mourn, and stand together in love and prayer,” it added.
Kaywonder said a new date for the concert would be announced soon and urged the public to remember the late singer in their prayers.
Similarly, PUGMUG announced the cancellation of its 10th anniversary celebration, which was scheduled for Friday, October 16.
The organisation described Toluwanisings as a beloved brother and committed member of its community, saying his death informed the decision to cancel the celebration.
“After careful consideration, and in honour of our beloved brother, we regret to announce that the 10th Anniversary Celebration scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled,” PUGMUG said.
The group explained that the cancellation would allow members to mourn the singer and reflect on his passing. It also expressed gratitude for the organisation’s 10 years of activities and apologised to guests, ministers and sponsors affected by the decision.
AY Grace Music Ministry also postponed this month’s edition of its All Sufficient Monthly Praise programme, which was scheduled for Thursday.
In a statement shared on Instagram, the ministry said the decision followed the death of the gospel singer, whom it described as a beloved brother in the industry.
“Following the sad and tragic loss of our beloved brother in the gospel music industry, Min. Toluwani Sings, we regret to announce the postponement of this month’s edition of The All Sufficient Monthly Praise,” the statement read.
The ministry said a new date would be communicated in due course, while apologising for any inconvenience caused by the postponement.
It also appealed for understanding and prayers during the period of mourning, extending its condolences to the singer’s family, friends and loved ones.
“We also pray that God will comfort the family, friends, and loved ones he has left behind and grant them the strength and fortitude to bear this painful loss. May his soul continue to rest in perfect peace. Amen,” the statement added.
Toluwanisings was known for his energetic gospel performances and Yoruba-influenced praise songs, including “A Very Big God” and “Kabiyesi Olorun Ayo”.
Eagles eye update had earlier reported that popular gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, widely known as Toluwanisings, has died.
