MLSCN AG REGISTRAR/CEO ASSASSINATED

The Medical laboratory families were thrown into confusion and mourning as information reaching the social media through Medicalworld Nigeria has it that the Ag Registrar/CEO of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria has
been assassinated.


Confirming this on social media, the AMLSN National
PRO Adeyeye Adetunji Tam wrote: 

"Let me sadly and authoritatively confirmed that the Ag Registrar/CEO of MLSCN, Mrs Omotuyi has been assassinated in the early hours of today at her residence in Abuja. May her soul rest in peace."

The Kaduna chapter of Association of Medical Laboratory Technicians and Assistants of Nigeria (AMELTAN) through Com Fidelis Tukurah posted:

"The leadership and the entire membership of AMELTAN Kaduna state chapter wishes to present our condolences to the leadership and all the members of AMELTAN NATIONAL and MLSCN over the demised of our mother "the Ag registrar MLSCN" Mrs Omotuyi. May her soul rest in peace."

The acting Registrar, Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN), Mrs Olufunke Omotuyi, has been murdered by suspected gunmen on Wednesday morning in Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) gathered that the incident took place at about 4 a.m. at her Apo residence in Abuja.

The late Omotuyi was reported to be in her office till 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

She is due for retirement from public service next month.

Details of how the assassins got her were sketchy.

When contacted, the Police spokesman of the FCT Command, ASP Anjuguri Manzah, told NAN that he was yet be briefed on the incident. (NAN)
