A chef from Akwa Ibom State , Hilda Bassey Effiong, is on a mission to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time. In an attempt to clinch this record, the 27-year-old graduate on Thursday set up a four-day ‘cook-a-thon’ at Amore Gardens, Lekki, Lagos State. The Medical Laboratory Technicians had registered there dissatisfaction over the circular released by their regulatory body, Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN), dated 27th April, 2023 , in what is seen as a reply to their letter following the Stoppage of Direct Entry For Medical Laboratory Technician By Joint Admission and Matriculated Board (JAMB ). In the Circular that was personally signed by the Council Registrar/CEO, Dr Tosan Erhabor , He outlined their past efforts to grant twenty (20) slots to Medical Laboratory Technicians in all Nigeria university for Direct Entry, and he added that there are efforts to intensify other directions by engaging relevant authority with a view to resolve the worrisome development that negates the council's intention for the professional advancement of Medical Laboratory Technicians.
