What You Need to Know About Nigeria’s New Police Spokesman

The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, has confirmed the appointment of CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi as the Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Police Force.

Mr. Adejobi had been working in an acting capacity since 16 February until the confirmation on Tuesday.

An official statement from the police shows he studied Archeology and Geography at the University of Ibadan, graduating with combined honors.

He holds a master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from the same university.

He has served as the spokesman of different commands and zones of the police, including:

  • The Ogun State Police Command (2008 -2016)
  • Zone 2 Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos (2016)
  • And the Lagos State Police Command between (2020 – 2021)

He is a member of several professional bodies and associations, which include:

  • The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR)
  • The International Public Relations Association (IPRA)
  • The Point Man Leadership Institute, USA
  • The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), USA
  • The Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP)
  • And the Institute of Corporate Administration, Nigeria
