I Love My Generation

My generation were those creative and adventurous set of generations, they never relent and are ready to take prosperous risk regardless of its outcome.

GAMES

In the absence of Playstation (PS series), my generation can create a football tournament from a soft drink cover (counters).

My generation will never run away from police or harassed by SARS but we always run away from NEPA (National Electric Power Authority), because we had redesigned the electricity pole with thread, nylon, pieces of clothes and broomsticks all in the name of kites.

There is no much games then but we always create games that will suit our conditions like table soccer, Suwey, ten ten, bread and butter, skipping, hide and seek, who is in the garden, card games, ludo, snake and ladder, tic tac, 

The only video game available then is Nintendo's street fighter, Super mario and Mortal Kombat.

EDUCATION

Education is very good when my generation is coming up, we have less private schools then and the standard of public schools then is topnotch.

We create names and songs for everything we read for easy reminder like (ede times ede Rẹmi koni iya Ṣẹgun elere ballu odabo odabo Kayode = Exercise book), Baba Ṣẹgun nwa trailer iya Ṣẹgun ntà Rice..., sandalili sandalili ..., 

HEALTH

My generation can be categorized has the most healthy set because we are not exposed to canned foods, preservatives drinks or more radiation.

Our beverages are the best, even our carbonated drinks have less preservatives, the fruit drinks are always natural despite the nonavailability of SON and NAFDAC, everything we consumed are of high quality.

ENTERTAINMENT

Entertainment in my generation is superb, all the music we listened to then are educative, informative and inspiration, even our movie industry is ranked high in my generation, 

Every musics and movies then were always screened before coming to the airwaves and they banned many musics and movies.

We have few television stations then that starts transmission by 4pm and closed at 10pm with cartoon programs. The only cartoon programs available then were Super Ted, Sport bily, Votron, etc

Our yoruba movies then is more of film tricks courtesy of "Yemi my lover", Abija and the Ajileye's.

CULTURE

My generation always believe in everything they called abomination without asking the big question of "WHY?".

We always do what they said is doable and flee from every don'ts without asking why?

Tell is to jump, we don't ask why, but we'll ask how high.

TECHNOLOGY/ICTs

Though my generation didn't have access to ICT yet we enjoy our childhood.

Our telephone is not wireless, we have many poles and wires

no compact disc rather, we have radio cassette

no DVD, rather VHS

we'll have to paste Lucozade coloured nylon on our television to have coloured picture.

our television is an analogue not digital (there is no space for remote control).
