CAN nominates new chairman

CAN decries drug addiction rate among Southern Kaduna youth
Bishop Stephen Adegbite has emerged as the new Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN Lagos chapter.

The election which took place at the Hoares Memorial Methodist Cathedral, Yaba, Lagos had delegates from all the five blocs which include Christian Council of Nigeria, Catholic Society of Nigeria, Organisation of African Indigenous Churches, ECWA/TEKAN and PFN/CPFN.

Adegbite, who came through from the Christian Council of Nigeria bloc will serve for a term of 5 years under the new resolution of CAN.

The remains of the late Ogun state secretary of the National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria (NACHPN), Com. Adekunle Olalekan Adeniji, was committed to mother Earth at his residence on Sunday 14th January, 2024 amidst tears and crying. The body of the late scribe left the morgue at Isara for his Olomore Abeokuta residence as final resting place at about 1pm and was committed to mother Earth around 3pm after a short church service. The late scribe was involved in an auto accident on Saturday morning while returning from a journey. Until his death, Mr Adeniji, was the Ogun state secretary of NACHPN, a Deacon in The Living Christ Evangelical Ministry, Abeokuta and a respected member of the community. The late scribe of the National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria (NACHPN), Ogun state chapter, Com Adeniyi Adekunle died in an auto accident on Saturday 13th January, 2024. Below are 15 facts about the late General secretary: 1. He was born to the family of Late pa J. K. Adeniji in Oke-odan, yewa South local government area of Ogun state. 2. NANNM Issues 15-Day Ultimatum to FG on Nurses' Verification and Other Demands

The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) has issued a 15-day ultimatum to the Federal Government of Nigeria to address the long-standing demands of Nigerian nurses.  This decision was made during the NANNM's National Executive Council meeting in Abuja on August 28, 2024. The association is seeking: 1. Immediate Reopening of Nurses' Verification Portal:  The NMCN, a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Health, should reopen the verification portal to enable nurses to explore better opportunities, pursue further studies, and complete necessary tasks. 2.
