A Working Visit Of OGSCOHTECH Alumni Executives To The Alma Mata

The National executive of the Alumni Association of Ogun state college of Health Technology, Ilese, led by Mr. Olayiwola Olayide (National President) in the entorage of Mr Osho Azeez (National Vice President 1) and Mr Seun Ogunwolu (National Auditor), paid a working visit to their alma mata, Ogun state college of Health Technology.
In a press release by the the President through his whatsapp post, he stated that though the COVID-19 and the End SARS protests created lacuna but he vowed never to take that as an excuse, and outlined what transpired during their visit to the school.

He stated:

'WORKING VISIT TO OUR ALMA MATA BY NATIONAL EXECUTIVE

Greetings to all Alumnus of our dear Alma mata, trust we are doing fine, I am glad to address us specially to brief us on our activities in one of our working visit to school.

You elected us to serve and we realize the importance of feedback in leadership hence the need for us to do the needful. 

Let me appreciate everyone who have been surpportive in the journey so far, of course 2020 has been a tough year as we have been confronted with *COVID-19 and now END SARS* though we have vowed not to take them as an excuse for inefficient  but the fact is they have come and created a lacuna, but we have resolved to utilize every opportunity at our disposal to fill the gap created by the aforementioned challenges.

Below are what transpired in our recent working visit to the School.

1. Meeting with Director of Students Affairs ( DSA)

We met with the DSA Mr Habib Agboola, where we discussed about the complaints we got about the SUG election and allege possible interference by the management.

We demanded for inclusion in the electineering process, we also complained about the huge amount usually place on the purchase of form for aspirants.

In his response, he assured us of his cooperation and ensure that he would direct them to us for us to mentor them when the time comes, according to him the election will probably come after their exams. I used the opportunity to ask him about the efforts of the school on the bad condition of the school road, in his account, he narrated how they have been able to reach out to all the Ministries in charge of the higher institution in the state.
2.Inspection with the Provost

During our meeting with the Provost, he told us that he is expecting commissioners for works and Education and he would like to inspect the environment before their arrival, we joined him to assess the condition of the dilapidated road.
3. Commissioners visit

It was a great news hearing from the visitors that the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has approved the construction of the school road, we joined the Provost and the visitors to move round,we equally on behalf of the Alumni lent our voice to the government to come to our aid by ensuring their visits turns to reality.

Though they seems to be ready this time around, they came with rubbles which they poured to the damaged portion at the frontage of the school.

Before now, we have met with some few political class and the repairing of the school road network has been the priority on the our demand.

In view weeks to come, we shall delivere a letter to the Governor and other key players and where we shall emphasis on the project.

4. Meeting with the SUG President

We met with the President on issues on the toilet, and his position on the coming SUG election.

For the first time, we had access to the Public toilet, according to him the toilet has been left unused because the woman in charge of maintenance is indispose and can no longer work there again, we told him our plan to get the toilet working and even build another one, he assured us of getting another person that week.

In order to assure him of our commitment, I directed one of the Executives to get a good plumber to fix all the damages observed during our inspection and  a painter to give the facility a good look.


5. A visit to late Yekini's( Yeko 2020) wife

You will recall that late Yekini was a student's union President in the school, a lecturer and great member of Alumni before his painful demise, the tribute to mark his one year departure was pasted by Dr. CY (former Alumni President) on this platform
I responded by promising to visit and play our own role, so  before we set out of Ilese, we visited his widow at least to get first information about life after the demise of her husband

She narrated how she has been coping to ensure the only son is given quality education as instructed by his Dad before he died.

The Executive will deliberate on what to do and definitely there will be feedback.
6. Reaching out to stakeholders

Since the beginning of this Adminstration,a lot has been put in place to involve philanthropists, political class e t c, as we understand the need for them for development of our Alma mata during this working visit, we reached out to some of them and booked for appointments with some, we pray as we continue to engage them, our efforts and resources would be fruitful.

7. Miss Damilola's case ( An Alumnus)

The lady is an Alumnus, she has hearing challenge ( partial deafness)  she came to one of our meetings and sought for assistance, I tendered tendered her case by suggesting the school should assist her by employing her but we were advised that is better we assist her in solving her medical challenge instead of securing her a job that she might probably not meeting up with any task given, they suggested they will be putting up a facility soon where she could be attended to.

Dear, dinstinguish Alumnus, this report is just our activities in one of our working trips to the School, The full report of all activities shall be duly told during our 1year in office which probably may come with any other constitutionally  acceptable program.
