Ogun AMELTAN 2020 SDC

 Wednesday 26th August, 2020 was a memorable day for the Association of Medical Laboratory Technicians and Assistants of Nigeria(AMELTAN), Ogun state chapter, as she held her 3rd quadrennial state delegate conference.


The event that was held in the MHWUN secretariat, Leme, Abeokuta, was honored by the representative of the Association President, Comr Omotosho, South-west Zonal co-ordinator of the Association, Comr Akinsola Akinsanya. Ogun state NLC chairman, Com Emmanuel A Bankole, Ogun state MHWUN chairman representative, com Steve Modupe.

Other dignitaries at the event are the Director of Medical Laboratory Service, Mr Olufemi Olujimi, representative of Ogun state NAPTTON chairman, Pharm (tech) Sobowale Babajide, Ogun state EHOAN president, San Prince Dr. Ademola Sodeke.

Side attraction of the event includes conference lecture on the “GOOD LABORATORY PRACTICE AND BIOSAFETY CABINET” delivered by Mr Henry Osaro Aisagborhi, Award presentations to some elders in the profession which includes Mr Olojede Kayode (Sir Kay), Mr Adeniyi Bamowo (Chief Medical Laboratory Technician, OOUTH), Mr Adedeji Adeyanju (Pioneer Chairman, Ogun AMELTAN) and Mrs Ojelade (The first retiring Medical Laboratory Technician at OOUTH).

The major spice of the occasion is the election into office of the new executives for another administrative tenure. The election was anchored by the AMELTANEC chairman, Com Bankole Oluwaseyi, after the dessolution of the Adejola-led administration by the representative of the National President.

The election that was keenly contested between Com Orisade Joel and Com Oguntade Samuel as the chairman was desided by 28 delegates with Com Orisade polling 13 votes and com Oguntade had 15 votes.

The AMELTANEC chairman later announce Com Oguntade Samuel as the newly elected chairman of the Association for another four years, and they later took the oath of office excluding the General secretary, Assistant General Secretary and welfare director/provost position which were still vacant.

Com (mrs) Abayomi Adesola (Treasurer), 

Com Adebari Oluwaseun (PRO),

Com Egunleti Oluwasegun (Auditor)

The remains of the late Ogun state secretary of the National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria (NACHPN), Com. Adekunle Olalekan Adeniji, was committed to mother Earth at his residence on Sunday 14th January, 2024 amidst tears and crying. The body of the late scribe left the morgue at Isara for his Olomore Abeokuta residence as final resting place at about 1pm and was committed to mother Earth around 3pm after a short church service. The late scribe was involved in an auto accident on Saturday morning while returning from a journey. The late scribe of the National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria (NACHPN), Ogun state chapter, Com Adeniyi Adekunle died in an auto accident on Saturday 13th January, 2024. NANNM Issues 15-Day Ultimatum to FG on Nurses' Verification and Other Demands

The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) has issued a 15-day ultimatum to the Federal Government of Nigeria to address the long-standing demands of Nigerian nurses.  This decision was made during the NANNM's National Executive Council meeting in Abuja on August 28, 2024. The association is seeking: 1. Immediate Reopening of Nurses' Verification Portal:  The NMCN, a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Health, should reopen the verification portal to enable nurses to explore better opportunities, pursue further studies, and complete necessary tasks. 2.
