Nigeria vs Serbia: Super Eagles lineup revealed

Nigeria coach, Gernot Rohr, has kept faith with midfielder, Joel Obi, goalkeeper Francis Uzoho and left-back, Bryan Idowu to start Tuesday’s friendly against Serbia. Turkey-based midfielder and assistant captain of the team, Ogenyi Onazi, has also been called to the starting line-up. He will be deployed in a three-man midfield alongside Joel Obi and Wilfred Ndidi. Also expected to start in attack is Ahmed Musa in place of Odion Ighalo, while Kenneth Omeruo replaces the injured Leon Balogun. There’s also a rare start for Tyronne Ebuehi who replaces the injured Shehu Abdulahi at right-back The German tactician also kept faith with Victor Moses and Alex Iwobi on the flanks for the game. Atiku Abubakar Declares Intention To Run For President in 2019

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has officially declared his intention to run for president in 2019 on the Platform of the Peoples Democratic Party. Mr Abubakar announced his candidacy in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital on Tuesday, four months after dumping the All Progressives Congress. The former Vice President said his decision to make the announcement in Rivers State because is because he believes Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike represents what he represented in 1998/99 as the live wire of the PDP. Mr Abubakar was in Rivers with the former Governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel; Senator Abdul Ningi and some other party leaders. Governor Wike, in reaction, described the former VP as a presidential candidate feared by the APC. The governor, however, played down his own position in the PDP, insisting that all genuine members of the party are its live wire. MMM founder, Mavrodi, is dead

According to media reports, founder of the MMM series of financial pyramid schemes, Sergei Mavrodi, has died in Moscow. Mavrodi was taken to a city hospital from a bus stop overnight Monday after he felt weakness and pain in the chest area, reports Moskovsky Komsomolets. The emergency team has failed to save his life. “He died this morning,” the report said. In 2007 Sergei Mavrodi was convicted in a Russian court of defrauding 10,000 investors out of 110 million rubles ($4.3 million). Mavrodi claimed he is not the beneficiary of the donations and he is not used to flamboyant lifestyle. His true charges of which he was later convicted of is tax fraud though he claimed that MMM scheme is not a business, but a mutual donation program of which there is no law against such.

Former NBA President, Sofola died at 84

A former president of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Chief Idowu Sofola, has been reported dead. Sofola was said to have died at his Lagos residence at about 8.00pm on Friday, March 23, 2018. He was 84 years old. Sofola, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) will be buried in Ikenne, Ogun State on Saturday, March 24. The deceased had also served as the Chairman, Nigerian Body of Benches and he was the first black to be appointed Secretary of the International Bar Association.

FUNAAB Radio begins terrestrial transmission

The Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, set another historical record today Monday 26th March, 2018, as their Radio station begins a terrestrial transmission. While speaking with the coordinator of FUNAAB Radio, Mr Ayo Arowojolu, he said "FUNAAB Radio is a platform to inform, to educate and to also entertain". More than that it is a strategy of the university to utilize the advantage of technology that can disseminate information to the largest community and stakeholders of the university". He added that "FUNAAB Radio cannot have political affiliation because it is an organ of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) and according to the license issued by National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), it cannot handle any political coverage.
