Staff Union Call For Removal Of FUNAAB VC

The Senior Staff Association of the Nigerian Universities (SSANU), FUNAAB Chapter has called for the removal of the institution’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olusola Oyewole.

The Union is calling for the removal due to alleged high handedness, betrayal of public trust among others

After its emergency meeting held at the premises of the institution, the Union also called for the dissolution of the institution’s Governing Council.

The Executive Committee of the Union, under the Chairmanship of Rotimi Fasunwon, had called the emergency congress to take a position on three members of the association, who were allegedly suspended by the Vice Chancellor.

Prof Oyewole was said to have, in a letter issued and signed by him, which was read to the congress by Mr Fasunwon, had accused three members of the union of an alleged acts prejudicial to the smooth running and governance of the university “.

Effort to get the reaction of the Director of Public Relations of the institution, Mrs Emmy Alawode, proved abortive as she said on phone that she is “not ready to say anything about the development”.
