Kano Emir moves to reconcile Shekarau, Kwankwaso

THE Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, has called on the Minister of
Education Malam Ibrahim Shekarau and the Governor of Kano State,
Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to as a matter of the state interest, eschew
political differences and get set to work harmoniously to see to the
development of the state.
The Emir, who made the call when the Minister of Education was at
his palace together with all the heads of the ministry’s departments
and parastatals to present his Letter of Appointment to the Emir as
the Chancellor of University of Benin, urged the minister, who is also
a traditional title holder of Sardauna Kano, to return home and put
hands together with the state government not minding the political
party difference and work towards making the state more developed.
“I am calling on our politicians to always remember that they have
been brothers even before the coming of political power struggle.
You have everything in common.
“You are coming back home in the next few weeks after your
meritorious service to the nation. The government will receive you
warmly. And we will all work together for our people.”
He called on all politicians to remember that politics is not enmity.
“We should pray against bitter political rivalry so that our state can
keep moving forward and the country in general, “ Emir Sanusi said.
Sanusi thanked the Federal Government for appointing him as the
Chancellor of the University of Benin. Emphasising that government
should do everything possible to see that quality education s given a
priority.
