Suspected fulani gunmen kill 10 in Kaduna village

At least 10 people have been killed by gunmen
suspected to be Fulani herdsmen on Saturday night
in Tattaura village in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Tattaura is a community in Ancha
District of Ninzo Chiefdom in the
southern part of the state. The village
is about two kilometres East of Gwantu,
the local government headquarters.
An eyewitness account told our
correspondent that the gunmen stormed
the village at about 10pm on Saturday
night, shooting sporadically at people.
Apart from the 10 people that were
killed, five other persons were said to
have sustained fatal injuries and were
rushed to Akwanga General Hospital in
neighboring Nasarawa State, where they
are said to be receiving treatment.
The Acting Chairman of the council, Mr
Nasiru Harande, who confirmed the
attack, described it as unfortunate and
barbaric.
He, however, said normalcy had returned
to the community, as security operatives
have been drafted to the area.
