INEC Redeploys State Electoral Commissioners

In preparation for the Nigerian general
elections scheduled for February 2015, the
Independent National Electoral Commission
(INEC) has redeployed all its state
Resident Electoral Commissioners (REC) to
different states across Nigeria, the
redeployment is with immediate effect
according to a statement issued today by
the Secretary to the commission, Mrs.
Augusta Oga.
Breakdown of the new postings shows that
the Resident Electoral Commissioner in
Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuemeka
Onukaogu has been posted to Enugu State;
Mr Mike Igini, Cross River REC is now in
charge of Edo State; Niger State REC, Dr
Emmanuel Onucheyo has been redeployed to
Kwara State while a former REC in Delta
State, Dr Gabriel Ada has been moved to Imo
State.
Other RECs and their new states are as
follows: Baba Abba Yusuf – Adamawa; Prof.
Tukur Sa’ad – Bauchi; Ahmad Makama –
Taraba; Selina Omagha Oko – Abia; Edwin
Offor Nwatarali – Anambra; Sadiq
Abubakar Musa – Sokoto, Jibrin Ibrahim
Zarewa – Kebbi; Hussaini Ahmed Mahuta –
Kaduna; Abubakar Umar Wara – Zamfara
and Rufus Akeju – Oyo.
Others are Umar Danyaya – Nasarawa;
Timothy Ibitoye – Ogun; Barito
Lenusikpugi Kphagih – Bayelsa; Haliru
Tambawel – Jigawa; Kassim Gana Geidam-
Gombe; Ibrahim Bagobiri Marafa – Katsina;
Aniedi Ikoiwak – Delta; Habu Zarma – Yobe;
Akin Orebiyi – Lagos and Hussaini Halilu

letter marked INEC/SEC/402/ VOLIII/312
and addressed to the officials directed
them all RECs directed them to conclude
all handing and taking over formalities by
Wednesday, December 31, 2014.

The remains of the late Ogun state secretary of the National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria (NACHPN), Com. Adekunle Olalekan Adeniji, was committed to mother Earth at his residence on Sunday 14th January, 2024 amidst tears and crying. The body of the late scribe left the morgue at Isara for his Olomore Abeokuta residence as final resting place at about 1pm and was committed to mother Earth around 3pm after a short church service. The late scribe of the National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria (NACHPN), Ogun state chapter, Com Adeniyi Adekunle died in an auto accident on Saturday 13th January, 2024. Below are 15 facts about the late General secretary: 1. He was born to the family of Late pa J. K. Adeniji in Oke-odan, yewa South local government area of Ogun state. 2. He was born on the 17th of March, 1984. 3. He was the fourth (4th) child out of six (6) children. 4. NANNM Issues 15-Day Ultimatum to FG on Nurses' Verification and Other Demands

The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) has issued a 15-day ultimatum to the Federal Government of Nigeria to address the long-standing demands of Nigerian nurses.  This decision was made during the NANNM's National Executive Council meeting in Abuja on August 28, 2024. The association is seeking: 1. Immediate Reopening of Nurses' Verification Portal:  The NMCN, a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Health, should reopen the verification portal to enable nurses to explore better opportunities, pursue further studies, and complete necessary tasks. 2.
