Five Suspects Arrested In Kano Bomb Attacks - Nigeria Police

As part of on-going investigations into the various terror related incidents that occurred in Kano, Police operatives in the ancient city have arrested five (5) male suspects for their complicity in the attacks. Two were arrested in connection with the foiled bomb attack at Isyaku Rabiu Mosque, while three were arrested in connection with the attack at St Charles Church. All suspects are currently undergoing interrogation. Intensive patrols are ongoing, citizens are advised to be vigilant and report any suspicious person or activities to security forces. Doctors remove 40 knives from man’s stomach

A man in India spent two months swallowing knives and had 40 of them surgically removed from his stomach, according to the doctor who led the operation. “He had a wild urge to consume metal. Even for us, the experienced surgeons, it was frightening,” Dr. Jatinder Malhotra told  CNN.  “We were so nervous… a small mistake could have taken the patient’s life. In my 20 years of practice, I have never seen anything like it,” he added. Malhotra said it took his team about two days to form a diagnosis and surgery plan and the operation lasted for five hours. He revealed that they found foldable knives, which when fully extended were about seven inches long. “The patient told us that he swallowed some knives folded and some unfolded. SSANU protests sack of 23 FUNAAB workers, indicts EFCC

MEMBERS of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) yesterday rallied support for the 23 workers sacked by the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) in Ogun State. The association protested the sack by disrupting movement into the campus while they accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of betrayal by releasing the names of the whistleblowers to the management of FUNAAB.
