Twitter set to launch a benefitting platform for media publishers, next month

An online social networking service and microblogging service - Twitter, is set to launch a platform that will enable media publishers to charge users on a per article basis from next month. This was made available by the Microblogging CEO, Elon Musk , in a tweet on Saturday. Hi Ann He tweeted: " Rolling out next month, this platform will allow media publishers to charge users on a per article basis with one click. This enables users who would not sign up for a monthly subscription to pay a higher per article price for when they want to read an occasional article.  Should be a major win-win for both media orgs & the public."

Fire guts a section of the Palace of Ooni of Ife

A building apartment inside the palace of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has been razed down by fire. The incident which occurred around 11:30 p.m., on Friday, April 28, 2023, did not spread to other sections of the palace as the fire was successfully extinguished. It was gathered that the fire started after the electricity supply was restored into the palace.

A 41-year-old man has been banned from donating any more of his sperm after he was suspected of fathering more than 550 children. The man named Jonathan Jacob Meijer was banned by a court in the Netherlands on Friday, April 28, 2023, after being dragged before the judges by a foundation protecting the rights of donor children and the mother of one of the children allegedly fathered from his sperm. NAFDAC warns Nigerians against cough syrup linked to death of six children in Cameroon

The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has alerted Nigerians about a suspected substandard cough syrup called ‘Naturcold.’ The agency, in a statement, said the ministry of health in Cameroon issued an alert regarding the syrup after it was believed to have caused the deaths of six children under the age of five at a health facility in the country. NAFDAC said the children showed a decrease in kidney function after consuming the product which was not authorised for marketing in Cameroon. “The product is not in the NAFDAC database, importers, distributors, retailers, and consumers are advised to exercise caution and vigilance within the supply chain to avoid the importation, distribution, sale, and use of the substandard (contaminated) syrups,” the statement reads. “All medical products must be obtained from authorized/licensed suppliers.
